Academic Achievements: Principles Honor Roll (every year), “Best in class” award – Architecture, “Student of the Month”, National Honors Society
Community Service: Breast cancer walk, “Will Dance for Food”, Dancers Responding to Aids performances, performed as guest in Corpus Christi Christmas Show, Harrison House Tour volunteer, Candy Distribution during Halloween to underprivileged kids
Schools: Louis M. Klein Middle School, Harrison High School, Westchester Dance Academy
Ambition/ Career Goals: Graduate with a B.F.A in Dance, join a contemporary dance company, and eventually open my own dance studio
Why I chose DRA: After performing for the organization and gaining an understanding of the wide range of services DRA provides for people with HIV and Aids, I realized that by joining DRA I could give back to the community through my dance and my close involvement with the organization. Through my dance career, a man who has judged and watched me dance at several competitions since I was 8 died of this disease. This made it real for me and made me want to help others suffering from the same illness he did. I think it is perfect for me to work with this organization by tying in dance with supporting this charity. |
